The travel bug has appeared sporadically in my family history. My grandparents on my mum's side certainly had it, but it skipped a generation with my parents and my sister is a certified home body. It is a relatively recent luxury to be able to live out your travel dreams, but for my great grandparents (my mother's grandparents) they were some of the few of their generation to regularly holiday overseas and have a passport full of stamps including those to Spain.
When reminded by my mum, that San Sebastian was one of the destinations they loved to visit, I couldn't help but to wander around town taking black and white snaps, and wondering what a holiday in 1920's San Sebastian would look almost 100 years on.
Did they swim at La Concha beach? Did they visit the funicular, or eat Pintxos in San Sebastian? I'll never really know, but it is nice to think that I have cast my eyes on some sites that they would have back when they visited.
I hope you enjoy...
