We're Laura & Pete

Welcome to our neck of the woods.

We’re two ordinary Aussies with a sense of adventure, so in 2015 we took a leap and set off to the UK, one way tickets in hand.

Yes, we *quit* our jobs to travel, but we quickly found new ones when we arrived. We juxtaposed normal working life, with stolen weekends in Europe and made the most of all of our annual leave and public holidays.

We initially journaled for ourselves and then to keep in touch keep family and friends at home. Over time our stories were shared and slowly we built a following of likeminded travel lovers, keen to see the world.

Collectively we’ve hiked glaciers in New Zealand, experienced the northern lights in Sweden, slept under the stars in the Australian Outback and stood at the edge of soaring chalk cliffs in England.

With our feet planted back in Melbourne, we’re an Australian travel blog with a little international flair.

Laura

Laura is a Melbournian who breaks the mould by neither drinking coffee nor following the AFL *gasps*. She fills the void with hot chocolates and ice skating and firmly believes she should have been born to a family living in The Alps.

As a primary school teacher, she utilises her generous holiday entitlements to hit the road and explore when ever the opportunity arises.

She’s a multi-tasking mum of two young boys who loves a little escapism in the form of photography and travel writing.

With 36 countries to her name and many more on her bucket list, the travel bug is unlikely to let her go anytime soon.

Pete

Hi, I’m Pete. I’m from Perth in Australia, but lived in Melbourne for a few years before our time in the UK.

My passions are sailing and field hockey. These have are on the been on the backburner whilst we were travelling around Europe, but I hope you show you more of the Aussie lifestyle now we are back home.

My favourite trip to date as been visiting vineyards in Bordeaux as wine is another passion of mine. I’ve written a post all about it.

I enjoy living an active lifestyle and hope to share this passion with you.
